The Body Shop Born Lippy Strawberry lip balm review

Lip balm are a must for winter season. My lips get so dry in winters, they get cracked and sometimes bleed. It’s a must for me to keep my lips moisturised in winters. But I hate heavy lip balms. During my childhood I had to apply Vaseline which I hated. But today, we have so many nice lip balms in variety of colours and flavours. Last year, I happened to visit The Body Shop store at Udaipur (haul post here). There I noticed these cute little pots of Born Lippy lip balms. I bought one in Strawberry flavor. Since then, I am hooked to these balms. They look so cute, have nice flush of colour and amazing flavor.

These babies retail for INR 275. Shelf life is 3 years.

The plastic pot has a screw lid which closes tightly. They are travel friendly in that respect. But since they have pot packaging and you have to dip your fingers in the pot, I don’t use them while traveling.

Texture of the lip balm is creamy but very light and non greasy. It gives a light flush of pink colour but does not show on pigmented lips. Though it gives gorgeous shine to the lips. Has a sweet taste and the strawberry fragrance is to die for. Smells like freshly squeezed strawberry juice. Like real strawberries.

Staying power is not very good. It stays for 2-3 hrs maximum on my lips. One thing that I have noticed and liked is that it has removed the pigmentation of my upper lip to some extent. But this effect is not permanent. If I stop using it pigmentation returns. But on regular use it makes your lips soft and pink.

Final verdict :

Yes, I am gonna keep repurchasing it. As you can see I already have an unopened backup of it. I will keep buying them as long as they are making this lip balm.
