Lakme Blush & Glow Gel Facewash (Peach, Strawberry)

Hey there,

Summer is just around the corner and sweaty, sticky skin is soon going to start troubling me. My face gets very oily in summer. Plus I have acne prone skin and many facial cleansers don’t suit me. In summer, I break out like hell. But this year I have got Lakme Blush & Glow Gel Face Wash to my rescue. I used to use this facewash (strawberry variant) a long time ago (around 10 or 11 years ago). At that time it worked very well for me. Then with time new things took its place and I forgot about it. Last year I discovered ‘Soulflower Tea Tree Glycerin Soap’ (review coming soon) which despite being a soap, stopped the acne problem. But I can’t take a bar soap everywhere with me. I had to find a facewash which suits me. So, when I visited a grocery store recently I saw these facewash there and decided to try it again because it had worked me well in the past. Let’s see how it fared for me..

Product description :

Crafted by Lakme Salon Experts, this gel facewash is infused with soft cleansing beads and peach anti-oxidants, known to moisturise skin. It gently cleanses your skin and effectively washes away dirt, impurities, and pollution, leaving your skin with a blush-like glow.

  • For peach kissed skin

Price :  INR 99/- (for 50g).

Shelf life : 24 months.

My take on the product :

The product comes in a semi-opaque translucent tube which has a white screw cap. The screw cap also has a flip-top. Basically it has a flip-top cap which shuts tightly and so, the tube is travel friendly.

The facewash is a red (strawberry), orange (peach) coloured gel which is not very runny. It contains exfoliating beads which are supposed to exfoliate gently. But the beads are very little in amount to do the job effectively. Well, I don’t expect to get that much exfoliation from a face wash.
The best thing is that these facewash cleanse your skin very well without over-drying it. They cleanse your pores and the fruit extracts help in reducing the tan and make your skin feel fresh and rejuvenated.

They do not make my skin dry in summer. But it’s Spring right now, and I need some light moisturiser afterwards. Besides, you must moisturise your skin regularly to reduce long term damages. I use my The Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Emulsion to moisturise my face after using these facewash.

After one week use of these facewash I have seen a drastic reduction in my acne problem.

Fragrance of these facewash is mild and fruity. Strawberry one smells like strawberry jam but I can’t exactly tell about the fragrance of the peach variant. But the fragrance is sweet and definitely refreshing.

Note:-  I don’t see any basic difference in the two variants except the color and fragrance. Both are equally effective and work for slightly dry to oily skin. I keep one in the bathroom and other in my kitchen because many times I wash my face at the kitchen sink.

Pros :

  1. Reduced acne, refreshed skin.
  2. No over-drying of skin.
  3. Nice fragrance.
  4. Does not burn a hole in one’s pocket.
  5. Travel friendly

Cons :

  1. Beads do not exfoliate much.
  2. Fragrance feels synthetic.
  3. Not suitable for dry or very dry skin

Final verdict :

9/10. I already have two tubes. That shows how much I liked these facewash. And Yes, I will repurchase these and I recommend it to everyone else too.

Thanks for reading 😙😙😍
