Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon | Cinnamon Brown, Shocking Pink | Review

No beauty product other than a Lipstick has the potential of turning an otherwise plain looking face into a glam one. In fact it is my love for lip colours which got me started into the beauty game. These days lipstick has taken other forms too and one of those is lip crayon. You don’t need a separate lip liner while using a lip crayon. It’s easy to use and carry along. These qualities of lip crayons drew me towards them and I ordered my first lip crayons from Nykaa.com. These are Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons in shades Cinnamon Brown and Shocking Pink. I have also mentioned about these in my post Shop Pray Love : April 2018

Price : β‚Ή 185 (for 2.2 gm of product)
Shelf life :  24 months.

Packaging :

The lip colour comes in the form of crayon. The crayon is colour coded so that it is easy to find the right colour when you are in hurry. The crayon pencil is not retractable, hence needs a sharpener. I heard that these pencils come with a sharpener but Nykaa hasn’t sent me any sharpener. So I am not sure whether Lakme is still offering a sharpener or not with these pencils.

These crayon pencils have a black cap which is not too tight and may come off easily while traveling. If you carry these crayon while traveling, be extra careful.

Texture, Finish and Smell :

Texture of these crayons is creamy and they glide smoothly on lips without any tug. But if you have very dry lips, prep them with a lip balm beforehand.

Though the texture is creamy, yet the finish is creamy matte. It does not dry out the lips and feels comfortable but is transferable.

The best part is their smell. They have mild chocolaty vanilla smell which does not feel overpowering. And it dissipates within a few minutes of application.

Shade, pigmentation and staying power :

There are 10 shades available on Nykaa and I ordered two of them : Cinnamon Brown and Shocking Pink. Though I am not a big fan of brown shades and they make me look washed out. But I took the risk and ordered brown too, for the change.

Cinnamon Brown is a light brown shade which has a hint of mauve in it. It is a perfect nude brown shade for office wear and daily use. It does not give a made up look and will look good on medium to fair skin tones.

Shocking pink is a bright pink shade which has warm coral undertones. This is the type of color which makes your complexion look bright. This colour will look so good on medium to fair skin tones and will give a summery fresh touch to your face.

Both the shades have medium pigmentation but in a few swipes, will build up to a completely opaque coverage.

Staying power is surprisingly good. Though these lip colours are creamy, still they stay 6 hours easily. On my lips they even survived lunch and evening tea, though this thing varies from person to person.

Pros :

  1. Available in many beautiful and bright shades.
  2. You don’t need a lip liner with these.
  3. Feel comfortable on lips.
  4. Despite being creamy give a semi-matte finish.
  5. Easily available.
  6. Affordable.
  7. Staying power is good.

Cons

  1. Didn’t come with a sharpener.
  2. Cap does not close tightly.

Final rating : Keeping in mind the price, I rate them 9/10. One point less because I have to purchase the sharpener separately.

Recommendation :  These lip crayons are a must buy if you want to try many beautiful lip crayons in a decent price range.
